I've got a cheap Lincoln 3200hd (110v mig) that I'm using gas with.  The fitting where the gun connects to the machine has an O ring on it that makes a seal to direct the shielding gas down the lead. That fitting can and does pop out about 1/8" while welding which causes all the O ring to unseat and all the gas to blow out the fitting which of course ruins the weld.  That's really fun when you are in the middle of welding something that you want to look nice and it's now got more craters in it than the moon. So I stop, push the fitting back in and start welding again only to have it happen over and over. I'm using .020 wire and I'm relatively sure the liner is the proper size to handle the wire as it feeds easily through it. If I hold the fitting in place, it welds just fine. I don't see any set screw or anything and I don't understand the point of the fitting even being able to pop out because it only comes out 1/8". You can't pull it all the way out of the machine.I had I think .015 wire in it before and I seem to remember it doing the same thing.  Any ideas?Sorry about the sideways pics, the forum did it automatically.WelderThe fitting popped out InsideSent from my SCH-I545 using TapatalkLast edited by nwhomesteader; 01-10-2016 at 11:43 AM.
Reply:That little wing nut tightens down on the brass connection pin of the gun to hold it in the drive. Loosen it out, push the gun all the way in then tighten it back down. It has a threaded end that lowers into that groove in the brass pin to hold it in place. That should be the fix for it.Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948
Reply:The little thumb screw/set screw right there on top in the 2nd pic, what's that? I see a black gas tube input, gun DECP/DCEN lead then the thumb screw to hold the gun in..Oops, sorry, 7A already covered it.Last edited by Sandy; 01-10-2016 at 11:52 AM."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
Reply:Oh dang, ok I'll try that when I get home. I don't know why that didn't stand out to me before.Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
