I'm not looking to spend an arm and a leg...  in fact, somebody was selling them on ebay for about $45 recently..but I'm fine with a used one if it works well.
Reply:eBay is your best bet.  Just don't bid agents me!Me!
Reply:Screw ebay.  I had three auctions a while back.  Each one was for items I was asking well under $100 for.  Only one sold... yet my fees added up to $42.  I have emailed them over and over telling them that something's wrong with that..and I get no reply.
Reply:Engloid, if I were to have to replace a pump, I'd call these guys and ask about the refurb pumps for $130. http://www.arc-zone.com/catalog/web_...=7335609_94909Owner of Bushwacker Mobile WeldingPictures
Reply:The pumps on any of Millers coolers are solid brass rotary pumps and easily repairable,,unless,of course, you're missing the whole pump. If you can find someone in your area who sells used restaurant equipment the same pump is used for beverage dispensers. Most are made by Procon,,http://www.proconpumps.com/   ,,

Reply:If no one has been messing around with the pressure regulating screw the first thing I would check is the internal screen. If that's not it then the pump may have been sitting for a long while and the vanes may be stuck,,but that's highly unlikely. Go to Procon's site and bring up the exploded view drawing and you'll see how simple,,and reliable,,these pumps are..

Reply:The Procon pump in my TIG setup was also working slow. I found there was some teflon tape and other crud lodged under the little plastic pressure relief plunger cup. I cleaned it out and it works again.
Reply:If you happen to purchase another Procon pump, you should first get the model parts number and check to make sure that the pump you buy is not too large in capacity for your welding cooler. I bought a new Procon on eBay for my vintage water circulator recently. I checked the Procon information sheet (see link below) and found that it is rated at 15 gph and 60 psi max. This is perfect for a water cooler or recirculator since you don't want to the blow lines off of your water-cooled torch. I personally wouuld stay away from a used Procon pump unless you are certain that it has not been used very much. They can have a lot of wear on them and there's no way to tell how much life is left. Whatever you do, don't disassemble a Procon pump to take a look, either. They have lots of parts that must be replaced when disassembled. Good luck. http://www.proconpumps.com/PDFs/Matr...ries%201-6.pdfLast edited by gnm109; 10-25-2007 at 12:34 PM.Miller Millermatic 252Miller Syncrowave 200Liincoln AC-DC 225Victor O-A Set
Reply:www.grainger.com  sells those pumps and probably Mc Master Carr too. Some people mistakenly put antifreeze in the system and that can cause deterioration of the seals. check the screen.
Reply:I have a Coolmate 3 and it would run then kick off as if the motor was overloaded, and sure enough it was overheating the motor, if the pump was disconnected the motor ran fine. So I pulled the pump apart and cleaned it (tricky) and it didn't really help so I disconnected the water lines and it pumps like crazy, so I thought the lines were clogged but after testing each one I have come to the conclusion that the motor is weak (it's drawing 11.8 amps @115V). I tested the lines by connecting one line at a time from the cooler to the welder, then the welder to the torch, then the return. It overloads the motor with the line to the torch connected . flow is good but the motor just can't do it. Procon does not recommend disassembly of their pumps but it's not too hard. And it's a clever design!Hope this helps...
Reply:Dude,This post is 4 years old.I'm sure Engloid will be glad to hear that he can rebuild his pump though.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.
