I have a Linde UCC-305 that I use in my garage as a hobby welder. Recently it began blowing the 220 CB when welding in AC medium range full pedal. Now it blows the MAIN CB when attempting to strike an arc in either AC or DC. Does anyone have any experience with these machine that might offer some guidance? I have checked the diodes and one of the four seems to have a very slight leakage.
Reply:Firstly what size main breaker does it trip. My guess is you PFC capacitors are suspect. They really have to be in top shape. I killed a good number of UCC305's in the past and have had a good number repaired by Arco Welder Repair in Santa Fe Springs, (562) 921-5240, 13922 Dinard Ave, Santa Fe Springs, CA. Don't know if they are still around but they did a great job.
