hi, so i was cleaning out our shed and found this. its been kicking around for a veryyyyy long time. i used to go garage sale hopping with my grand dad when i was young and he was always looking for tools. well now that i'm older i'm finding some of them and seeing that they are very old and some my dad and i have actually been using. anyway, on with the pics:it was a little hard to ID at first but i found writing on it that says "Two-Tone by Stanley" stanley being in script font. did some research and it looks like a stanley oh4 from about 1940. if i am incorrect about anything please educate me. looking to restore it and give it to my dad. as you can see the handle was broken so i glued it back together. tomorrow i plan on cleaning the rest up but i was wondering if anyone knew where i could get the correct colors to paint it. for now i will clean up and paint the wood as its just simple black.thank you.
Reply:Lots of Stanley tools are yellow and black.
Reply:okkkkkkk?
Reply:If you have a sherwin williams near you, you could see if they could match the paint and mix you up a small batch. Or you could send it to this guy. http://www.ricksrestorations.com/ If you cant fix it with a hammer, it must be an electrical problem."Boy, everyone starts with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before the bag of luck is empty."-Grandad circa 1990ish
Reply:i thought about that but i think the paint may be too worn out to match. maybe i'll give it a shot anyway, cant hurt.i thought about what rick would do with this but i think i can handle it haha. |
