cv problem

using new 305G with LN25 PRO. machine set on cv. feeder set on cv, wire speed oscillates acts weird. set feeder on cc,welds sweet. checked switch, okay. put new pc board in feeder, same. got new ln pro from warranty shop that had run sucessfully on another new 305G, put on my 305G, same situation. running 211, dcen, polarity switch on 305 on negative. Tried wfs adjustment, no change. my 305 less than 40 hours of use, ln25 two years old. strange thing about all this is my ln25 did the same thing on two different vantage 300's[rentals] and a couple esab statics. any comments. thanks.
Reply:I have seen this also. what size wire are you using?I had two different 305 Gs LN 25 pros do this. The customer was trying to use 7/32 nr211.We actually  got it to sorta work by slowing the wire speed down to 100 ipm.We ran the ln 25 pro on an xmt 304 at full speed with good results. 130 ipm 21 voltsIf your problem is the same one I had,  You watch the drive rolls while welding, you should see them stop for a split second then go again.The owner of this set up was switched to a ranger 250.For some unknown reason the 305G and the ln25 pro do not work well together.I am still waiting for lincoln factory to explain what is going on.We put a lot of parts in the ranger 305G with no change.
Reply:Let me try one more time. my customer was using 0.068 NR 211I went back and checked my notes on that job and remembered one more detail.With the welder set at 21 volts check the volt meter on the 305G.The voltage one the two I had would bounce between 14 and 30 volts.and never settle down. if you turned the voltage up, the wire would almostburn to the tip then get pushed down. the arc length would go long and short.in time with the drive roll.As  a final solution I think they tried to switch the LN25 pro for one of the LN 25 standardsgood luck
