Hi Fellas I am in the market for a nice portable Tig Machine and have been looking at Th Miller machine. My question is what does Lincoln have that is comparable? I really was hoping to fins a machine that was capable of doing aluminum also but that is looking doubtful at this time. What does Link have to offer?

Reply:My personal opinion is the Miller Maxstar wins the battle against the V155-S. The V-155S has a weak feeling body, while the miller feels quite solid (while weighing less aswell). Also the Maxstar has a Max OCV of 90 vs the Lincoln's 75, and at a glance the miller uses less input power. For the little extra you pay (should be under a $50.00 dif for the std pkg) I would go with the miller on this one.If you want to work with aluminum check out the Diversion Miller series... unfortunately they seem have Lincoln in this category aswell. My rod is hot, and it penetrates deep.
Reply:Well I honestly really wanted to find a Portable Ac/Dc machine so that I could do aluminum on the fly wherever. But after looking at the amount of cash difference it does not seem to be worth it? What is you all's opinion on the Miller Maxstar 150 STH version? This looks as though it is pretty much the same machine only it has a finer adjustment? It also appears to be much more money to!
Reply:That was already answered in your other thread....My name's not Jim....
