Extensions for dump trailer

Its been awhile since I posted anything, so here's a project I helped a friend with. A friend called me to help him make these extensions on 6 of these dumps. They are used to haul off the waste of sugar cane after they process it. The waste is very light, so this is what the customer came up with. We told him that it would be top heavy, but said it didn't matter. Well since we finished them his employees has flipped two of them. It was quite a challenge, because it wouldn't fit in the shop. This is the first one, and it was trial and error, because the customer didn't want to hire an engineer, so it took some time to make it. The gate was the hardest to make without drawings, because as the dump was lifting the gate would start opening, and when lowering the door would close. I only took a few pictures, but you'll get the idea of what we did. Attached Images

Reply:doc, I don't have any pictures, because they sent another welder to do the repairs, and the guy didn't take any. AK, yes the tractor is in very good condition, and that's what we used to lift the dump. Boostinjdm, I was referring to the material they haul with the dump, thats light.
