I started on this stand Saturday morning for the saw I picked up at Fabtech. Wanted something fairly compact but stable so it would not flip over with a full length of material. The majority of it is made from the scrap pile. The frame is all 2"x1/8" square tube.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:Needed to cut a piece of 1/4" plate for the saw to sit on so I got to try out some magnetic torch guides and stand off attachment that were also picked up at the show.  They make it real easy to do a nice straight cut. (I'm terrible with freehand cutting)TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:The base of the saw is tapered from front to back so I welded two pieces of angle under the plate that will hold the saw. There are 4 holes in the top of the angle and will have bolts to level the saw. Tabs will be attached to the saw mounting plate with slots for bolts to lock the plate once it is level. Bolts will go through those tabs and the horizontal holes in the angle.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:I'm deciding if I want a short table on each side or just make the folding rollers right to the side of the saw.The sheet metal is not cut to size, just wanted to see how it would look.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:Lookin good so far.
Reply:OK Ia'm lost why is the saw so far below the frame?
Reply:Lol that is a good question. That's a nice table u got there drill the holes yourself? I'm not trying to change the thread!

Reply:Smart to make the saw platform short.  I did it the same way, for the same reason.  Easier to shim a new saw, than redo the entire saw station."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:What's the deal with the standoffs, is that something hypertherm just came out with? Looks like they would work pretty good. BTW looking good so far.

Reply:I finished the frames for the two roller tables that pivot out from the stand (Forgot to take a pic with the second one attached). Got the tabs welded for the saw leveling plate and attached the casters. Still need to finish the rollers and the leveling feet/screws that will level the entire stand. I'm going to add a work light bracket somewhere just haven't figured out where yet.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:Finished both roller frames and attached the locking bars to hold them level. I don't really care for how the bars sit when the tables are folded in, wanted them to be completely vertical but it did not work out. It is not finish welded yet, wanted to see how things would pivot before making it solid.Still need to cap the tubes, build the rollers, add a tool shelf and a quad box for the two lights and the saw to run off one cord.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE

Reply:Very nice work. . . I am sure it will make your future cutting much less taxing.hey Chris I was just thinking , those pieces that hold up the side wings .I think they would stand up straight if the bottom section was longer than the top one .Try the bottom one and inch longer and the top an inch shorter . gxbxc

Reply:It seems the more time I spend working on a project, the less I actually get done. (Still trying to figure that out)Made some leveling feet with 3/4" threaded rod and 2" stainless pipe for the foot. The handles were cut on the Torchmate. Sheared some flat bar to cap the tubes.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
