Huntsman 411P helmet construction.

Could someone tell me what material the Huntsman 411P helmet is made of?I have an old 711P also that is made of the same material.I would like to find this material so I could take and old helmet apart and use it for a template on this material and cut out a new one.Has anyone tried this?
Reply:They call it "Vulcanized Fiber" on their page. I'm no help though as to where to hunt some up though.
Reply:That's funny you asked. I lust after another 711p, so I just bought another twelve of the 411p from Enco with the intention of trimming at least one. Had not thought of drilling out the rivets and unfolding. Reply:I will see if I can order Vulcanized Fiber somewhere, I also have another hood that is made of the same material as the 711P but it is way smaller in size.It does not have a number on it but looks like a Huntsman but half the size of the 711P.This must have been used for extremely tight places.It is almost too small to weld with.

Reply:That looks like a 711P, I know Huntsman placed that label inside them to protect themselves.The hood I have is smaller than the 711P and I will probably use it for oxyacetylene only.
