I can pick up this Bridgeport mill for 300,- . It comes with a big vise and some tooling ( and some rust... ) The bed is still there but has been removed for transportation.Should I get it?Thanks, Peterwww.petermoll.nl
Reply:The vise alone is werth 300 pounds American dumbdumb. getit now before its gone
Reply:It appears to be a M-head, check the specs before you jump in. http://bridgeport.askmisterscience.c...letproblem.htmBriggs weldnpower 225/210/cvLn-25 suitcaseMillermatic 130
Reply:sounds like a fair price but the condition and amount of wear do drive the final deal. Provided it's at least a serviceable machine (7.5 out of 10), it may be worth it.what size is the table? What is spindle taper? MT2? lot of work was done on these machines in the day.
Reply:Check the taper on the mill first. The M-head mills were produced with MT2, B&S7 and B-3 tapers. The last two are very difficult to come by and will cause you problems finding tooling...especially cheap tooling.Lincoln PrecisionTig 275Miller 251Miller DialArc 250Bridgeport millHossfeld bender & diesLogan shaperJet 14 X 40 latheSouth Bend 9" 'C'Hypertherm 900Ellis 3000 band saw21"Royersford ExcelsiorTwo shops, still too many tools.
Reply:Got It It's got the mt2 spindel. Everything has a bit of slight surface rust, but the mating parts are well greased and look very good. The bed looks pristine except for the rust; no dings and no drilling / miling marks. Everything came apart very easily; it felt liked it had been looked after when it had still been in use. I'll start cleaning tomorrow. Thanks for the replies.www.petermoll.nl
Reply:Actually, I didnt see the vise in the pic. Could you show some more please.
Reply:I'll make a new thread as I come along cleaning:-)www.petermoll.nl |
