I was wondering if anyone here could help me with some settings and tips for welding aluminum. i have a mig pak 180 and the sg100 spool gun. i am using %100 argon at about 18ish cfm. the problem im having is getting the 2 peices of metal to blend. ill post picks later today, but by looking at it it seams that the weld is too cold. i will also post the settings im using later. i did have some luck filling a cut in some 1/8 cast. well it looks great after a bit of grinding. any tips you guys have would be great. btw i was using .035 aluminum wire on 1/8, 3/32 and 3/16 plate. i am using 10-15 degree angle on my work peace and like i said the welds just look cold on the outside edge. ill post picks later. see you then.
Reply:3/16 is too thick for your machine. And it's the nature of it, starts off cold then penetration gets deeper as the plate heats up.You should use like 30cfh.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:OK I'll try to that and post back with some pictures |
