Looking to buy a tweco 211i and wanting to add a tig torch and foot pedal also. Not a ton of experience with welding. A little stick and mig, but no tig. Not looking to do any aluminum. Just looking for some options for a tig torch and pedal that will work aside from the tweco options as Ive read the torch is pretty bulky and not sure about the pedal either. Looked at a couple of ck torches, but honestly have no idea what are the differences. Also looked at a ssc pedal, but not sure if there are better options either. I will be mainly using this in my garage to build and fabricate a motorcycle. Welding on a hardtail section, various bungs and tabs, and possibly an exhaust. Any guidance is greatly appreciated
Reply:SSC pedal is your best bet. Give USAWELD (HTP) a call.........http://www.usaweld.com/default.asp......tell them what you have and want to do. They are top notch on price and service. Remember to tell them you need a torch with the valvr in the handle.
Reply:I have a 211i, it's nice and would work well for your needs. I ordered a smaller tig torch separately, my logic being I will only tig for intricate projects. Mig and stick for the rest.
Reply:I also have an Thermal Arc 211i and really like it. If you decide to weld aluminum sometime in the future you can with this machine by purchasing the spool gun and a bottle of argon gas. As recommended above, SSC petal. Bob
Reply:This is the torch I was looking at http://m.ebay.com/itm/CK-CK17V-12-RS....c100408.m2460Is this a decent start? Also planning on getting this kit to get started http://m.ebay.com/itm/CK-AK-3-Access...580?nav=SEARCHAside from a pedal, argon and filler rods, what else am I missing?
