Reply:3/16 steel would probably be good. There are alot on YouTube. How big is your shop?
Reply:I made one the other day out of 3/16 4in sq tubing. It was just for a test run. I'm planning on making a bigger one soon.
Reply:this guy made one that doesn't seem to be a full time feeding job. with a larger fire box. if you have pics to share please post them... If somebody knows thee ratio for the size of flue vs feed tube and chimney outlet that could be valuable info too,
Reply:There are lots of ideas out there on good rocket stove design.. and there are some pretty crappy designed rocket stoves as well.There is some good information here as to the design, there are some players on youtube as well that have some good things going as well. rocketstove.org is a good place to start, there is lots of information and design ideas. Plus, they have pdf's that discuss design and math.I have a little prototype stove that I feel has good results so far. Built a skillet attachment recently and bought a 24" skillet.. gonna do the "official" Youtube temp/boil test soon. Gonna cook some bacon, eggs hash browns and sausage too!  Would like to get going on the oven box and hot water heater as well.. Not enough hours in the damn day. Too late to be out there now.I did a thread on the one that I built. I don't have any videos on the net, but could possibly compress and email you a video, maybe ftp if you dig. I can give you the measurements off of mine. Meant to do the same for another person, but forgot. Reply:So that is what a rocket stove is  never heard of one. I'd go at least a 12 inch pipe. And put a door on it or your wood will burn super fast. Can't believe he didn't cut the hole first. That guy is not the best fabricator. But he's a good stick welder!
