Hi all, I am thinking of starting to weld some aluminum projects and am considering a spool gun for my powermig 255. Does anyone have experience with both of these guns. If so i would like some input as to wich one to purchase.I would need and adapter kit for 230.00 for either one with my 255. The magnum sg is about 300.00 cheaper but is the 250lx a newer and better design?Also I have read that miller spool guns are much better and that the lincoln are not even worth buying. My local distibutor sells both brands and says if you ever want to put a spoolgun on buy a miller to begin with. Any input would be appreciated.Thank youPaul R
Reply:The SG gun will run fine. Will last a long time if treated right. If you want a more rugged gun. Contact MK products in Irvine ca.Look at the Prince spool gun and they might an adapter that will work with your welder.Your LWS may not know this.MK makes the python gun for Lincoln.
