Things to do with Old Transformer?

I found an old Harbor Freight 90 amp flux core welder. Its 120 volt input it not a DC output but ac so it's an ac transformer. It would not feed wire and little board looked burned.Its not worth fixin to me but theres gotta be something cool I can do with the transformer. Any ideas?
Reply:Use it for a power supply with taps for multiple voltages. Make a small spot welder for thin  gauge material.ChrisAuction Addict
Reply:To make it a dc transformer you just add a diode bridge. It'll be "dirty" dc unless you also add a capacitor. Google "harbor freight welder mods".Eventual master of the obvious, practitioner of "stream of consciousness fabrication".  P.S. Reply:the board that is burn is probably the controller board for the wire speed control. so bypass it and use it for a small stick welder. just close or bypass the contacts if it has them.

Reply:Remove the secondary windings,  replace with 1 or 2 wraps of heavy welding lead wire,  and make a spot welder.  That'll give you super high amps,  and a voltage low  enough that it won't shock you. http://www.philswelding.com
