Hi ya'll,Thanks for your help in advance. I have a Miller Trailblazer 251 that will not draw an arc on the stick mode. I have AC and the unit will instantly melt rod if I switch to the wire setting. I only have the stick setup for this machine. I have checked all fuses and and cleaned the cable connections to be sure but with such a good arc on wire I don't believe connections are the problem. The id plate is missing off the machine so I don't have a serial number. The unit was welding great and then quit like I had a ground issue but it won't even draw an arc directly on the ground. Any thoughts would be appreciated.Thanks.
Reply:Sounds like operator error! Lol just kidding...kinda...
Reply:You may find a SN sticker inside the unit. White, about 1/2" wide and about 1-1/2" long. Reply:On further investigation there is no sticker with ser. # in the machine. I have inspected the inside and find no melted or broken wires and all connections are tight. There is a faint spark when you try to draw and arc on the ground but not even enough to excite the exciter. Anybody have an idea of what to check next? Thanks |
