Stopped by my lws yesterday and found out that they had merged  ( bought out ) with American Welding & Gas ( AWG ) - The guy at lws told me they were still going to keep their name as of right now. Reply:I have used inweld cored stainless wire and some of their rods.  Was crap as far as I was concerned. Works for practice. We had purchased about 200  spools of 309 stainless and sent it back after using about 5. The rod was ok for building corrals. Cheap. Wouldn't use it on anything that was going to be to code. Just my .02.
Reply:The 7018 that was used at welding school was sorry.  The Lincoln 7018AC (from Lowes) that I had at home was so much better.  Instructor said the school got a "deal" on 7018 at $1 lbs.  Believe he said it was Inweld.  I didn't recognize the brand at that time.  BTW: I dropped out after 3-4 months of classes due to lack of lab time.  Am practicing at home with text book and WW as assistants.Added note: I picked up 50 lbs of Excalibur 1/8" 7018 off the internet last week packed extremely well. It arrived in far better condition than the cans at the LWS.  Cost 99.98 delivered.
