I have been asked several times if I could do brush clean up work with my Kubota B 7800 and couldn't because I lacked a set of brush forksif you have ever tried to do this with a standard bucket it's a PITA ... like trying to scoop up a plié of bailing wire what little you get in the bucket wants to fall back out because it's tangled up and you don't want a load of dirt mixed in So this is an old design my father made quite a few sets of these in different sizes and both loader mount and 3 point hook upjust going to alter it for quick attach / detach ... and maybe a future thumb load holding thingThe material is 2 x 2 x .250 tubing that is what I have on hand and was scrap from another project that we are done withmaking the points is easy used a wood stake for the template make the cut lines and break out the gas axeplasma cutter would have been easier for thisAnd the Trail Blazer went to the shop to be repaired so were using the old but reliable Millermatic 35Backed my CATMA over your CARMA oops clusmy me  What would SATAN do ?? Reply:I got the Trail Blazer back and it's not working right so it's going back Monday  I wanted to put most of the stress on the bottom of the bucket and not have it just swinging around only hanging on by the top quick mounts and needed it to not interfere with normal loader operationso I came up with using 2 pieces of 4 x 4 x 1/2" plate cut in a L shape and welded inside to the sides of the bucketThis holds it in place and doesn't get in the way while keeping the stress pushing down onto the bottom of the bucket and against the lock platesBacked my CATMA over your CARMA oops clusmy me  What would SATAN do ?? Reply:That should work great!  I did some brush work with a very similar setup once and it worked well.  That machine also had a thumb thing on top like you're planning.  With the thumb you can move some serious brush piles!How do you like your Rage saw?  I think I'm about to get one.Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
Reply:Now the top quick mounts were a pita because I had to buy an odd size piece of angle iron and I am trying to keep this light as possiblebut I could only find  a piece of it a little thick...overkill 4" x 7" x 1/2"  I would have liked to have found it in 3/8" thickIt locks over the 3 x 3 x 3/8 angle that is welded to the top of my bucket for the hooksbut you see how it basically works and mounts so I can detach it quickly and the only stress on the top hook up is the weight of the whole assembly the pushing and raising stresses are all kept to the bottom of the bucket and the two locking platesI will post the rest laterBacked my CATMA over your CARMA oops clusmy me  What would SATAN do ?? Reply:I have had my rage  for three years now and still love it cuts that tubing nice quick and burr freebut cutting 250 wall wears on the blade so i'm going to have to sharpen it soon..i should have bought another of the blue blades so one on the saw and one to sharpen it takes some time to sharpen them with the HF machine I haveif you look at that one photo I posted were my ground clamp is that was cut with the rage 3 nice and smooth ..I didn't even grind itLast edited by killdozerd11; 01-06-2014 at 04:00 AM.Backed my CATMA over your CARMA oops clusmy me  What would SATAN do ?? Reply:Very nice build! I built something close to that years ago for my tractor, but not near as heavy duty as yours. But eventually I ran into a good deal on a grapple for a skid-steer, cut all the mounting brackets off and built ones to fit my tractor. A grapple makes life so much easier! Reply:My tb had issues with the plunger getting corroded and sticking making it idle and run crappy. I've cleaned and oiled it a few times. Now I have a bad board. The amperage drops down if you turn it up past 150 amps. Change potentiometer with negative results. Reply:Another handy attachment to have is pallet forks. I copied Ingersoll Rand's design to a degree. I move my SA-200s around all the time with these. I put padeyes on it so it can go on the 3-point hitch for heavier lifting. Reply:I like your brush forks - I would suggest one addition (assuming you are as hard on stuff as I tend to be). Reply:Here's a quick set of brush forks I made in a pinch after sandy took down over 100 trees on my property. I used some 1x1 I had laying around. They worked great with the light pine branches anything else would have pretzel'd them.

My tractor will pick 1,300-pounds, I have placed shackles, and chokers in the holes at the end of the forks to pick things, and stalled the loader. No I can't say I would change a thing. Couple years ago I did come across a good deal on a set of T-1 warehouse forklift forks. When ever this rectangular tube gets bent or rust out I'll replace them with the T-1 forks.
