Reply:TD claims you suould get 1000+ starts with a start cartrige. how many are you getting. I had an issue with a customer going through 6+ a month with a new torch. TD warrantied the torch and the problem went away.Syncrowave 350 LX TIGRunnerThermal Arc Power Wave 185 TSWXMT 304/12VSESAB Powercut 1500MultiMaster 260MM 200
Reply:If you are seeing lots of carbon tracking on the cartridge and electrode, that is likely contamination in your air, like water. If you are seeing heat damage, electrodes melting, you are looking at overheating, probably caused by inadequate air flow. You can have good air pressure and not be getting adequate flow. An obstruction, like junk that blew down into the torch head or leads, a collapsed air hose where somebody crushed the lead, air filter becoming clogged, something like that. You are more likely to see overheating at low current than at high current. The tip orifice is smaller, so less flow at the tip.
Reply:I used my thermal 52 for almost a year and a half before I replaced my first start cartridge. This was frequent regular use on my cnc table and manual use off the table. My air is not as clean as I would like it to be.JasonLincoln Idealarc 250 stick/tigThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52Miller Bobcat 250Torchmate CNC tableThermal Arc Hefty 2Ironworkers Local 720 |
