I have a small Linc welder I pulled it in today and it turned on but when I hit the trigger on the torch I get nothing! I checked and it still has plenty of wire and good tension. I then thought that it might have been my outlet that I was using and tried another plug with the same effects. Can anyone help me?Thanks

Reply:Well, I guess I'll start this.... WHAT IS THE MODEL OF THE MACHINE?? Does the fan run? Are the drive rolls turning? Trying to turn? Does the contactor click when you pull the trigger? Give a few more details and I know we can get this post hopping...

Reply:First off let me apologize for being kinda of a d-bag. Since it is not sitting in front of me I cant give model or number I do know its a weldpak. The fan runs but nothing is moving or clicking. Thanks
Reply:Not a problem oldschool as you know where everyone is coming from. Kinda like saying "my car's making a funny noise - what's wrong with it?"With still not too much to go on without a specific model or code#, a couple things come to mind right off.1) faulty gun trigger2) open gun trigger circuit (poor connection or wire off somewhere)3) open or defective overtemp switch4) a bunch of other possibilities but no need to go there nowWithout more specific information, one could have you off on a wild goose chase so if you can post the unit code# and any additional machine history (new to you, have had it and used it last week, etc.) I'm sure much more useful suggestions can be made to direct you to the source of the problem.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Fan runs and nothing else, I'd go for the auxillary transformer at the fan, the wires have a tendency to pull out.
Reply:Auxilliary transformer output is at the top of the "bunch of other possibilities" list.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base! |
