Built this brass tumbler(cleans already fired rifle/hand gun brass) before reloading. TIG welded everything. Turned out pretty good, works great and the brass shines like new. Ended up using a bigger motor than shown in the first pic. Attached Images
Reply:Few more pics of tumbler

Reply:Belt/pulley guard is aluminum, frame is steel square tubing with cap plugs on open ends(kept open to adjust feet).
Reply:Pretty nice. What kind of RPM does the drum turn?

Reply:Drum turns at 55 RPM, has 3 fins inside to mix up the brass. Comes out very shiny like new.

Reply:When I saw a build of these on AR15.com, I so wanted to build one.  Now I think I may just have to break down and do it.I am using a tumbler that has the two tubs.  I have had it for 20 years or so.  It has tumbled a ton of rocks and brass.  When I started to use the stainless steel pins and lemie shine, my brass cases turned out super duper clean.http://www.amazon.com/Lemi-Shine-Har...rds=lemi+shineBuzz.
Reply:Great looking tumbler.  Did you build the container too?
Reply:Video here...Got the idea from AR15.com. Selling my old vibratory cleaner....!!!I glued a cap and a reducer on the ends of a 6 inch dia. pc. of white pvc drain pipe.

Reply:@ ZZ - nice job!  Was using my Thumlers Model B today and ran across this thread.  You're def using SS pins, check?  Dawn soap + splash of LemiShine + H2O = golden brass."Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi

Reply:@ Mano, I'm using ...SS pins, Dawn soap, Lemi Shine, H2O. Produces really clean brass, only drawback is wet brass when it's done. I just spread them out and dry with a towel, then stick a fan on them for 30 minutes. Sooo much better than vibratory tumbling...!!! @ Robert, the rods are solid steel round stock, with gasoline hose slipped over them. Wet tumbling is the only way to go for me from now on.

Reply:Nice job!  Love the belt guard. Really wish I had a tig welder when I did mine
Reply:Damn ive been thinking of building one of these for a while now. A part of me says i should just buy the large thumblers tumbler for 250 something as building one might come close to that (depends on what u have laying around) and the thumblers one is real nice with a steel hex shaped brass bucket with rubber liner.Dynasty 200DX   (2014)Millermatic 211 (2015)Optrel 864   (2014)Smith Medium duty MBA 30510 (Xmas 2014)Tennsmith 16ga 4ft finger brake (2015)Trailblazer 325 EFI and excel Thermal dynamics Cutmaster 82Miller maxtron 450
Reply:I have been using a vibratory tumbler for metal cleaning.  I'd appreciate some of you with experience educating me on the SS metal pins media alternative. What do you use and where do you source it?  Thanks!
