Reply:So you are looking for larger than the 1600?
Reply:https://www.weldersupply.com/C/2/Specials$3500 and free shipping for a 1600, plus they are good people to work with.

Reply:If you need one that size, have you considered a Dake or other equivalent? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk:

Reply:Originally Posted by nbmetalworxllcI havent looked at the Dake yet, so far Ive looked at the Ellis, wellsaw, and hydmech. Ellis unfortunately is the only one that daul miters and its actually about half the price of the wellsaw for the same capacity Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Reply:I haven't run across much an 1800 won't handle. At that point it's usually easier to take whatever cutting tool to the work rather than the material to the saw. The weak link in most Ellis saws is the cam action vise. They do tend to slip when miter cutting so an additional clamp is often necessary. Fortunately it's easy enough to do with the base of the saw. |
