I snagged these Lincwelder 225 twins last week. They have seen better days! Story from PO is one got some bad gas about 10 years ago and started running crappy then died. Pushed it into a corner of the garage and left it there until I came along and gave it a new home. Second one he picked up for spare parts. Both turn over so I'm going to attempt to bring them back to life this weekend. If they are runners I have two new sheet metal tops and two new faceplates to help get them back to looking good. Rebuild the CCKA Onan twins and get them on the way to a second life. Stay tuned for updates as they happen..... Reply:$100 ea. and he tossed in a nice B43m 16HP twin his kid rebuilt/overhauled back in high school sometime in the early 90's. Popped the heads off today and the pistons are shiny new. They ran it once and it went in the corner too! Reply:Now I see why you missed the $100 legend, You were off chasing twins
Reply:I had a heads up on the twins! They were at a garage sale weekend before last and a buddy of mine called up to tell me about them during the week. I went looking for them with only a cross street to go by and they were gone.  No red welders in a trailer on a corner lot. Pulled in and asked this kid loading stuff in his truck about a yard sale last weekend. Yup! that was us. Still have the Lincolns? Nope....we moved them to a better location for another yard sale. Dang! But hey follow me I'm going there now. How far? 15 minutes. OK, lets roll....Miller LegendMiller XMT 200Miller HF 251DMiller Spoolmatic 30AMillerTrailBlazer 250GLincoln LN 25Lincoln G9 ProLincWelder 225Lincoln Ranger 9Lincoln Ranger 275TJhttp://onanparts.com

Reply:Nice snag TJ!I see those selling around here all the time in the condition yours are in, but runners for $3 to $400.00 dollar range.A guy a couple months ago had one he was selling that was all original but looked almost new, said he had it since new and kept it under covers and hardly used it, he was asking $700.00.I have had to pass on a few good deals, been putting together a welding truck that I bought about a month ago, and have put that G7 on it, I plan on resuming my rebuild of that 225 later this winter!Glad to see your keeping busy!Ken.#1. If you don't like what I wrote, or if it offends you, then don't read it!#2. I am living life the way I see fit, if you don't like the way I'M living, tough sh**!
Reply:One of the twins is alive! Fresh gas with some good batteries and she fired right up. The Onan CCKA is a little tired and burns some oil but it pulled rated output of 225 amps on my load bank.Since everything checks out this one gets some attention and will be looking and running much better as one of my winter restoration projects. Some video of it running on the load bank.Miller LegendMiller XMT 200Miller HF 251DMiller Spoolmatic 30AMillerTrailBlazer 250GLincoln LN 25Lincoln G9 ProLincWelder 225Lincoln Ranger 9Lincoln Ranger 275TJhttp://onanparts.com
Reply:Good deal. In the video it looks like it's blowing smoke out the dipstick tube. Whats the compression like? I'm thinking worn rings..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:1000 amp load bank came out of the local shipyards a long time ago. No name but it's a tough one! Blowby is coming out the breather and mufflers. A complete rebuild is planned for the Onan. I had the two mixed up on age. The runner is a 1975 and the other is 1977. Note the lack of warning info on the early one. Faceplates were changed between '75 & '77 because of liers, er lawyers....Miller LegendMiller XMT 200Miller HF 251DMiller Spoolmatic 30AMillerTrailBlazer 250GLincoln LN 25Lincoln G9 ProLincWelder 225Lincoln Ranger 9Lincoln Ranger 275TJhttp://onanparts.com

Reply:Nice video clip TJ.  I like the load bank.Brink and I are amassing the components to build a couple AC load banks for testing generators and I'm looking to build a DC for welders too.  Always nice to know exactly what they're doing. Thanks for posting the test.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!

Reply:Hey T.J.  Are these the Lincwelders that start the engine by passing the battery voltage through the welder windings to spin the motor over to get it running?  And why the need for two batteries?  Curious, just want to learn more about them.  Thanks!A few of my toys !LinuxMintManjaroMiller Roughneck 2E Lincoln WeldPak 100HTP MTS 160 Chicago Electric 80amp Inverter   Victor O/A

Reply:Hi,  I just bought me a lincoln 225 a month ago. It runs great but doesn't idle up when it has something plugged into it.  Should it?  I noticed it has a spot by what appears to be the governor where you can put a pin thru it, didn't know if that was for using the generator power. You have to pin the idler for 110 volt operation, their is no circuitry to do this automatically.Gary Haunemail  [email protected]  http://haunsystemsrepair.com

Reply:Duane- it must take you a while to use up inventory! Speaking of ugly twins, here is a DC-225 I just finished up. Mice ate the insulation off of the field windings. In 35 years I have never had to replace a set of these. Can't believe the customer wanted to put the money into it. But it lives again!Duane it's great that you take the time to help so many people on the forum  Attached ImagesGary Haunemail  [email protected]  http://haunsystemsrepair.com
Reply:I just picked up a lincwelder 225 and all the fins on the flywheel are sheared off does anyone know where i could pick up another one thanks
Reply:Hey guys, new to the forum here. My dad just got a lincwelder dc-225/3-as. He is in need of any wiring diagrams that you guys could share. Thanks
Reply:evening guys, i have a lincwelder with a ccka onan twin on it, i need a little help runs good smokes very little. welds good if u turn the amps up to about 175 or so.   problem is that when i put on low idle and then strike an arc it will not idle up, bogs down real bad, the solenoid on the governor doesnt let go i dont think. maybe something wrong with the exciter? i dunno much. also if i turn the twin up to hi idle( weld speed) then strike an arc it still seem like it pulls the onan down a little too far. can anyone tell me where or how to find out what is wrong....is it the governor?.....or something else. when i strike an arc it should "excite" the genny then release the solenoid that will then release the vacume diaphram to let it idle up correct? any how it dont currently work like that...any help would be greatly appreciated. thx
