Going to be building a set of axles soon, and will be doing 90% of the welding (control arm brackets, shock mounts, ect.)Miller 211, I'll have access to 220.So, my question is as follows:Which would be the best setup?.030 solid wire with C25.035 with C25.030 with straight co2.035 w/co2Or flux core? Most everything will be 1/4" or less, maybe some 3/8.
Reply:.030 or .035 should be fine with either c25 or co2. Kinda a random question, are you sure you are up to welding things that keep you on the road?Airco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG
Reply:Just curious about the options. I haven't run co2 before.

Reply:My 211 seems to prefer the .030 wire . I normally use 75/25 with it  on 220 volts. At 110 with C0 2 I think you get better penetration when that is all the power source you have like on the 110 volt only machines.  If you go with CO 2 it maybe wise to get a dedicated CO 2 regulator and not use the one provided with the machine. You can get one here http://www.usaweld.com/CO2-Welding-F.../12020-co2.htmAttachment 960681  For those who want a more accurate gas delivery system, our CO2 Flowmeter is the answer. Perfect for MIG Welding with CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) only, our Flowmeter is an economic alternative for the demanding customer who wants more precise gas metering. The pressure gauge which shows how much gas is left in the tank goes from 0 to 4000 psi. The output flow is adjustable from 10 to 60 cfh (cubic feet per hour), and is indicated by the ball which moves up and down in the flow tube. The fitting is a female CGA-320 fitting, so it fits a carbon dioxide tank. This does not fit 75/25 cylinders or Argon Cylinders.A very nice thing about this Flowmeter is the outlet will fit both the female 9/16" x 18 nut or the male 5/8" x 18 fitting. You can see the adapter in the picture. It comes with a standard 1/4" barbed fitting. If you have a Miller, Lincoln, or Hobart welder, the gas hose from your machine should screw right in, as they should use the 5/8" x 18 male nut.If you need a gas hose to go with this flowmeter they are available for $19.95 on this website. Flowmeters are more accurate than the flow gauge regulators. This CO2 flowmeter is backed with a 1 year warranty
