ok i have a older syncrowave 250 non dx, a wp20 watercooled torch, and a old radiator 1 water cooler. i am really lost when it comes to getting everything hooked up. both female in and outs on the cooler are reverse thread, but the 2 small torch male fitting are diff. one is reverse ones regular. now, the right side of the machine theres a "post" that has 2 females. the one on the left is larger and fits my large torch make fitting, and on the right shows a small female fitting that maybe one of my small torch male fittings go to. maybe someone could help me via telephone. sorry for the stupidity. please help, thanks JoeLast edited by loolagigi; 09-23-2012 at 08:56 PM.
Reply:Originally Posted by 7A749Ok. You have three fittings on your TIG torch.1: Water IN. This is the SMALL, Left handed threaded fitting. This goes to the coolant OUT on the radiator.2: Water RETURN This is the LARGE left handed threaded fitting. This connects to the brass block on the neg terminal of the machine. Only one hole it will go in. This line also houses the power cable inside it which carries weld current to the tungsten electrode in the torch. It absolutely, under NO circumstances can be run without coolant. It will cause permanent, immediate damage to the torch & line.3: Gas line. This connects to the OUT fitting on the gas solenoid on the machine. This will be the RIGHT side if you are facing it.You will need two more hoses. One will be the GAS IN, which will go from the flow meter on the Argon cylinder to the IN fitting on the gas solenoid on the machine. This will be the LEFT side fitting if you are facing it.The other is WATER OUT. This connects with two left handed fittings. One FROM the coolant IN fitting on the radiator to the other threaded hole on the brass block on the machine. You essentially make a closed circuit for the coolant to run, going FROM the cooler OUT side, thru the torch, back from the torch TO the brass block on the NEG terminal of the machine, OUT the small hose going out of the brass block, back to the IN side of the cooler.Gas flows FROM the flow meter at the cylinder, TO the solenoid, which is opened & closed by a timed relay circuit, out of the solenoid TO the TIG torch & out of the end of the torch to provide shielding gas around the molten weld pool.Hope that explains it.
