Don't know if this is the right place to post this. Harbor Freight welding tables will be on sale this month for $57.00, Is it worth the 57 dollars or should I pass. It's not for heavy use in my shop but might be handy for when I have jobs for friends away from my shop. Love to hear from anyone that has one.
Reply:I love mine. It is just what it is. Not for heavy projects, I think 300 lbs. I use mine for hobby work and light weight projects. I like that it folds up as well due to my space constraints.
Reply:It's worth the money. Good height. When I need a larger work surface, I just a sheet of 1/4" aluminum plate on the table top.1969 Chris Craft Roamer 46 RefitMiller TB280 w/Spoolmatic 30a2016 AHP AlphaTIG 200XAncient Millermatic 35Zeny Cut50 plasma cutter
Reply:That's the best price I've seen. I really like mine and use it for welding projects as well as a general project table. Small size makes it handy for jobs requiring easy access to all sides in a cramped garage.
Reply:I have one and am not impressed. It arrived with the bag of little pieces torn open and stuff missing thru a hole in the box. I'm only using it until I can get a real table made.At $57 it's OK, but just barely.

Reply:I like mine, but I don't use it for anything remotely heavy-duty. So far, I've used it mostly as a small workbench for temporarily holding and sorting parts. Fit and finish are surprisingly nice -- no major scratches or scuffs in the paint (powdercoat?) and the top of mine is close to flat.As far as stuff missing through a hole in the box...: my box was undamaged and I still had missing hardware. I expected this based on reviews online, so I wasn't too upset. It cost me $2 at the hardware store (not much metric stuff in my parts stash), and about twice that in gas, to get the missing bits. With all of the complaints about missing and incorrect hardware, you'd think that they'd make a point of correcting this shortcoming....What else? Some people have reported missing or split foot caps, but mine are fine. Directions are sketchy and, if you assemble according to the instructions, your hardware placement won't match what's shown in the photo on the box. No directions given on where to use nyloc vs. plain nuts. Angle locking mechanism itself is light-duty but seems ok, with the caveat that the plastic handle that you use to tighten the lock in place feels very flimsy. Don't overtighten. Having said all of this, I don't think that anybody here will have a moment's trouble figuring out the proper assembly and how to fix anything that may break with use. What may not be obvious from photos is that the table has two removable stops that can be attached to either long dimension and either short one, to help fixture parts with a 90-degree angle.I would (and probably will) buy a second table at $57. Personally, I feel that the table is worth this -- but I wouldn't buy it at the regular price. Originally Posted by PDXsparkyI have one and am not impressed. Reply:Well I bought the table and it seems to be good enough for light work away from my shop. It has some potential because two could be clamped together for a larger table area, I may buy another just for clamping together. I know I couldn't build a light welding table for anywhere what I played for it, out the door for $60.40.
Reply:It's a good tig table. I've also taken the steel table top off and used it on my workbench as a flat welding surface for light duty. Pedaling
Reply:I take mine with me or road calls.Fits in truck nice ,use it for cutting table for small pieces ,for larger pieces I put one end on tailgate other on table .For the price you can't wrong |
