I have a community event in the morning (March 5 2016) and I have to weld a couple things by morning. The trigger switch failed in my Hobart 140 Handler and I cannot see how to open the gun. I have the new switch. If anyone sees this pls give me a call: Dennis 209-304-0892Many sincere thanks..Dennis PricePine Grove CA
Reply:Twist the bottom of the gun and the two halves should pop apart. Pretty sure that's how it comes apart. Check the switch with a meter and replace if need be.Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948

Reply:It's the top of the gun that rotates. Here's the manual for the H10 gun that I believe is what is used on that machine.http://www.hobartwelders.com/om/0900/o943a_hob.pdfThe other gun manuals can be found on Hobart's site. Look under "H-" and the gun model. There's only like 4 models and I'm pretty sure the H-10 and H-14 guns are put together the same. Note The H-10 gun is identical I believe to the M-10 gun on my Miller, so parts like switches should interchange..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:You may find it's simply a bad wire to the gun. You can bypass that if need be if your switch tests out good. I had one of the wires break in my original M-10 gun and for temporary use I simply ran something like 22ga wire taped to the whip and spliced back in at the plug to keep using it until the correct parts arrived. A temporary switch is a bit more difficult to work up, but a small push button switch mounted some how would work in an emergency..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
