Does anyone know what brand Eastwood rebadges as their welders? I have a friend who is interested in this welder set-up. http://www.eastwood.com/tig-welders-...dc-welder.htmlThanksTimTimmetalcraft by mooseSoutheast Michiganhttps://www.facebook.com/Metalcraftbymoose Stupid Hurts!!
Reply:There have been some mixed reviews about the Eastwood tigs in the past. Not sure if the machine you linked is the exact same model or not that was reviewed. So many of these machines constantly change as venders change suppliers either due to the fact they ran out of a production run and either can't get the same machine again, or go with another vender for cost reasons, or because the previous units had reliability issues.Treat most of these machines as disposable. Most companies simply replace rather than repair units with issues. Out of warranty, that leaves you with no really good options if there should be a problem. Many times when these machines fail, they fail with limited numbers of hours on the clock, however because they are used in the hobby setting vs industry, you may be well out of the warranty period when it fails..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:The old Powercraft line of power tools, and welders, that Montgomery Ward used to sell were generally identifiable by their case. It looked just like the "name" brand in many cases. But not always.Look at Kenmore. Their washers are usually made by Maytag, but can be made by other companies as well. At least this was my understanding years ago. I DO know that there ain't no Kenmore factorySpeaking of Kenmore K'kins convinced (actually ordered) me to buy a freezer. We got this little 5cu/ft job from Sears. I really got to like it. So!! Three months after we got it, IT QUIT WORKING We tried to exchange it, it being only 90 days old, and they refused. BUT,,,,they will send out a guy to fix it. ON DECEMBER 17TH I MEAN IT'S NOT LIKE WE MIND, IT'S ONLY BEEN WORTHLESS FOR ALMOST A MONTH NOW. We had to take all our frozen stuff to her mother's."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/ |
