Hello:When you set the voltage on your machines that have a digital voltage display, is it the Open Circuit Voltage before the arc is initiated or what the Arc Voltage is going to be held to, when the arc is initiated, by the internal electronics of the machine? Hope someone can help. Thanks.BurtHF DUAL MIG 171 w/ Multiple Mods.WSME-200 AC/DC TIG PULSE/MMACUT-50 PLASMA
Reply:Actual welding voltage on both machines I have owned with digital displays. Don't see any point in showing open circuit voltage.Tiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma. Reply:southpaw: Thank you for the quick reply. I was hoping it was the actual voltage. Of course my HF171 only displays the welding voltage once the arc is struck so I have to select a voltage tap that I know from previous testing yields a particular welding voltage. Take care.
