Someone taking my welding class is selling a Lincoln 110v mig welder. He says it takes the bottle and was purchased recently... he also says it's got about 20 hours on it.He's asking $300, he thinks it's a 140 but I'm going to check it out before I buy it.Is $300 for a 140 in this condition a good buy? (I'd probably try to get it for $250)
Reply:It sounds like a fair price. $250.00 is better though. With .030 or .035 flux cored wire you can do a lot of stuff with that little critter as long as you stay with 3/16" or thinner steel.StephenMillermatic 251Miller Syncrowave 200Miller 30A SpoolgunHypertherm Powermax 30Etc., etc., etc.............Cancer Sucks!
Reply:I would like to use it for auto body restoration, and small shop projects and repairs. Also exhaust work.

Reply:So I guess it's actually a 135C instead of a 140... is it still worth it?I can go get it now if I want, I just can't find much info on this welder online.
Reply:sp 135c or a weld pak? That is the older model welder. Still a good welder but check it out completely. May need a new liner in the miggun. Make sure it will weld and the gun is good. the lincoln gun has a bad habit of coming apart at the welder end. If the gun is pulled on a lot.The powermig / weldpak 140 is the current model. The C models have continuous adjustment of the weld voltage The T models have a 4 position switch. |
