Hello - Just thought it would be a good idea to get a simple backup helmet just in case, and am looking at a simple Jackson Shadow w-10 HSL-2 with flip up front and to augment that, purchasing most likely a ArcOne SS240- 10.5 or 11.0 auto filter lens ( 2" x 4.35 " x .5 ( the SS240 is thicker by just a tad than the single S240 lens ) … and wondering if anyone uses this setup and/or if they know if the filter lens will fit this Jackson helmet and if it would require or not a **** load of mods or stacking of covers or whatever ? The guys selling the helmet are not sure of the ease of a match and the folks selling the filter lens are not sure as well. Also, are there other auto lens out there that would offer a superior fit and overall quality ? - Any input very much welcomedEDIT Update : I have since found ArcOne's Information Owner's Booklet : http://www.aceintl.com/pdf/arconeusermanual.pdfWhich explains the ArcOne lens offered, specs, differences and the helmets they sell that will fit their various lens sold. Apparently the Super Singles lens (SS) do not fit a flip up helmet. At least not theres as the SS lenses offer Off/On & Delay modes for spot welding whereby the Single lens S240 do not and will fit in a flip up front helmet.Last edited by FLASHGORDON; 03-12-2016 at 03:01 PM.
Reply:I was given one of those Jackson hoods with the flip front and hated it so much. Always felt like the view was like 1/2" too low compared to my eyes. Some people like them though. I also have an inexpensive hardware store flip front hood that will fit an auto dark lens. It has a very flexible plastic retainer that can accept regular lenses or the thick auto dark lens. There is another thread about the arc one lens right now.
