I've got 4 small s/s railings to make for one of our provincial ferries, using 1 1/2" x .065 wall, 304 s/s tubing. We've got a couple 14" Jancy Slugger chopsaws so I figured I'd get a proper blade for cutting the material rather than revert to the 'ole abrasive saw, so for darn near $200 I picked up a blade http://tinyurl.com/9kc7vzk .I`ve made approximately 20 cuts with this blade and it`s toast, it`ll barely make it thru the material so as it is now I`m just pushing it thru as there`s no place around here that`ll sharpen them and it`s no good to me anyway. I don`t think it`s that the material is too thin as I`m taking my time and not driving it thru the pipe nor am I letting it wear on it.We use their steel blades all the time with great success, no probs at all.I wasn`t forcing it, no missing teeth, no vibration, no loose material. Anyone got any better ideas......Mike
Reply:You have the 90 tooth mcbl14-ss correct? Or is it 48 tooth? This is the Jancy blade marketed as Fein. Might be less than your paying. The Fain saw looks identical to the Jancy.http://www.trick-tools.com/Slugger_1...4#.UHj7n1E_nKc
Reply:Yep, that's the blade, the 90 tooth. The first cuts were fantastic, no burrs, really clean but it went downhill from there in a short time.Good price, only prob being is that by the time it gets to Nova Scotia, duty, shipping, government add ons etc will make it almost the same price. The price wasn't really what bothered me it was the fact of it not lasting even tho it was promoted as being a s/s blade.....Mike

Reply:I was and it wasn't my money but it still ticked me off. I found out after I had bought it that one, one of the other guys in the shop had used one with the same results so it wasn't a one tme thing....Mike
Reply:If you find a metal cutting carbide blade that stands up to cutting stainless, let me know.  I have not found one yet. For what these blades cost, im not trying any more on stainless.  I went back to a band saw for cutting stainless.  I use Evolution blades for everything else and they work great. Tried their SS blade too.  No good.
Reply:http://www.harborfreight.com/120-vol...ner-96687.htmlWould this help???   I don't own one.  , I remember somebody on this forum used another one of their blade sharpeners to reshape the blades to cut a kerf for folding sheet metal.
Reply:I know you have a dry cut saw... but if it were me, I'd mix up some coolant in a spray bottle and keep it as cool as possible.  304 stainless work hardens very easily. A wet saw would be ideal but in a pinch I bet you'd be surprised what a little coolant will do for you. I don't recommend cutting stainless dry despite what some people claim. I'd also drop the rpms if possible but I think your saw is a fixed rpm. If your doing a bunch of stainless... then get the boss to spring for a wet saw.
Reply:I've used stick wax on the blade as a lubricant.  I'm sure coolant is better, but I've never tried it to avoid the mess.  I just apply the wax to the sides of the blade near the teeth while it's spinning (watch those fingers).I've been disappointed in how long the blades last on my rage3, and I'm only cutting mild steel.  I've accrued enough dull blades I think it's time to build some sort of sharpening jig.Dynasty200DX w/coolmate1MM210MM VintageESAB miniarc161ltsLincoln AC225Victor O/A, Smith AW1ACutmaster 81IR 2475N7.5FPRage3Jancy USA1019" SBAEAD-200LE
