It's about time I give my dad back his unibit and purchase my own, anyone have any they recommend? Also I would love something that goes up to 1.5" for a project I'm working on.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:http://www.greenlee.com/Lincoln SA200's... at least 15 - 20. They come and go. Growing partial to the "Short Hoods" in my old age. Last count on Short Hoods was 13 in possession.

Reply:On bigger holes, I've been known to holesaw them one step smaller and clean 'em up with a unibit. My name's not Jim....
Reply:I actually bought a pair from harbor freight a while ago... I think it was 12 bucks for a 2 pack, one large, one smaller.  I've run the hell out of em, mostly in 16-10 gauge steel, and they both still cut fine.  At that price, I don't mind replacing em.  Regardless of the quality or initial price, if you round the cutting edge on just one step, the whole thing is pretty well junk. You didn't build that.'85 Miller AEAD-200LE

Reply:" The newest one you have?"Oh 5-8 years there abouts, been a while since I bought one as I have several, a mix matched set and spares. The Greenlee bits that Hobo suggested although I don't have any off their unibits, I do have a couple of their knockout punch sets and they are excellent quality. So I would look at them if I couldn't find the Kliens.

Reply:Don't be a punk. Buy your dad the new unibit, thank him and you keep the old one for yourself.
Reply:I've tried hole saw bits but they seem to dance around a lot. Plus it takes FOREVER to drill through doing it that way.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:I run through a lot of uni-bits. Beat the snot out of them. Run them hard and get the job done quicker. The bits that seem to do the best are the green-lee. The green-lee with the nice big steps. Those giant ones with the short steps aren't great.

Reply:Look for an electrical supply house.
Reply:I bought an Irwin from Lowes 5 or 6 years ago and it's been great. Had it sharpened acouple of times because the first step dulled. Why buy it for $10 when you can build it yourself for $100.
