I want to take my sa 200 and chop it down lower. Does anyone know a place that does it around the ft worth tx area. I cant seem to find one or get a answer from anyone on were to go
Reply:I would not alter anything “original” on my SA200. If you want to “chop” then pick up a bare frame and chop away. This will allow you to do a “frame up” build. You can sand blast / coat the frame and install your “running gear”. There are a couple of options for cooling. One is to go with electric fans and the other is to fabricate a bracket to lower your existing fan. Again, chop up parts that you procure for this specific job.At some point you will want to sell off / trade your welding machine. At that time you will want to have all of the original pieces and parts, un-modified. Moving (selling) a chopped machine is, at times, difficult.
