who knows about or uses lincolns LDH 80 low hydrogen downhill wire?
Reply:that is smaw wire. size 5/32.
Reply:Are you talking about LH-D80, which is a stick rod?http://content.lincolnelectric.com/p...ure/c11001.pdfI haven't ran any, but I have heard a few stories.  Most of the guys that told me about it were using it in Louisiana.  From what I was told, the rod requires more DIG than a lot of the older RedFaces can produce.-Rhyno07 Fowler 200D65 RedFace04 Miller TB 302, 22hpMiller 12RCMiller HF 251-1Lincoln SP135HyperTherm PM 380and a few others... Reply:yes ryno, I am, I need to know what to set a V 300 pro inverter to as far as arc force and mode, I've just about done everything, with this machine, as far as what i mentioned so far and no luck. the machine will burn this rod flat, and horizontal excellent, but as soon as I go verticle down with it no good, the machine wants to go cold on me way to soon, like half a rod burned, then cold, sticking. but as far as flat and horizontal, I can run this rod flawless one after the other. this rod burns very well at about 160-180 amps 5/32 diameter.my particulars for the machine is 230V 70 amps input power single phase, 160-180 amps out of the welder, to the holder, in the cc mode crisp, with the arc force knob on +8-10, electrode positive.as I said i've done everything possible to the machine as far as settings for this rod, to do that verticle down, but just won't do it.just need to know if there is anything I am overlooking.mike.

Reply:ryno, o.k. I found out my problem as you said + for some unknown reason, the rod goes cold, then I found that if you restrike the rod again, the rod burns the remainder just fine. rod angle I found to be 20 to 30 degrees from perpendicular, that also helped, I also believe I was trying to carry ot much metal, and also traveling to slow.thanks for your help.mike.
