I have just recently acquired an SA200 that the guy I bought it from said was a '78 model. The problem is it doesn't have the original face plate on it with the serial number. Is there another place on the machine that I could find the serial number and code number? Second question, last week I pulled the machine off my truck to do some routine maintenance on it, and when I put it back on the truck, if I touch the ground clamp to the truck it arcs and kicks up the exciter. I double check to make sure the leads were not reversed, and they weren't. What else could be the problem here?

Reply:Ok.... Being the new guy, I guess I don't understand why my thread was repeated... Was there an error????
Reply:Its not a repeat, sorry I should have explained. Read the thread that is posted in the link, someone had the same questions you do. You will find your code of your machines generator. And welcome to the weldingweb. You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else. Albert Einstein
Reply:hey thanks I really appreciate it... any advice on the ground problem????
Reply:I assume it worked fine prior to pulling it off the truck? maybe you pinched a lead on the stinger side, and when you were touching it to the truck it was "grounding out". Try to disconnect the work lead and the touch then truck with the ground. You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else. Albert Einstein
