I have a piece of scrap 3x3 3/8 in plate from a welding table that I made. I bought a 3x9 piece and cut it down to 3x6 and now I have this 3x3 piece. I was thinking about getting some square tubing for this instead of angle like I used for my table, putting it on casters, painting the frame of it, and drilling holes in a 2x2 or 4x4 grid so you can use clamps like the stronghand tables. Anyone know how much I could sell it for? Just looking for a fun little project that might make some money haha. Thanks guys!Building a 94 crew cab Chevy long bed dually welding truck. Reply:Hmm, I've seen some hack job tables about this size go for $300 around here lol. I guess if I can't sell it then I'd have a little table to roll around?Building a 94 crew cab Chevy long bed dually welding truck. Reply:The hard thing about making a profit on a welding table is that pretty much anyone who needs one can build one.GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.

Reply:It depends on location. I sold a 30'' x  48 '' x  1/4'' table top  with 2'' x 2'' angle iron frame for $250.00. I bought it cheap and added a lower shelf and framework.

Reply:Here is the start on my 3x6 table, no welding has been done yet but hopefully I'll get my welder back soon! Here is the angle all cut to size:And here is the table, it's going to have another support in the middle. I just want to tack these down first then put the support in.Building a 94 crew cab Chevy long bed dually welding truck. Reply:I also hope you are planning to weld the frame together and then bolt the top on the frame. If you start welding the frame to the table top, you will distort it. How much will depend on how much weld you put down. Best option is bolting. Later on, if you come across a thicker piece of plate, you can unbolt the one you have now and replace it.
Reply:Make it a grinding station.  Bench grinder and belt grinder on adjascent sides, with a beefy vise on the opposite corner.  Put racks underneath for angle and die grinders, wheels, burrs, belts, etc.  Mount a double gang box with 4 receptacles on the bottom side. You didn't build that.'85 Miller AEAD-200LE
