Reply:WRT the compressor, I'd want some more details like is the tank ASME rated? Is the tank horizontal or vertical? Who made the motor, what kind of bearings, what is it's frame number and its HP rating, what voltages will it run on and what is the amp draw for each?Long ago, I bought some articles from the predecessor company and was satisfied with the merchandise. Here's the website of the company placing the ad; note the phone number in the ad is the //tech number for the company. Use the part number from the ad and do a search of the site to see if more details are available. http://www.tptools.com/d/12_Abrasive-Blasting.html
Reply:Actually, I am in the market for a good replacement compressor, but I have used many and owned a few. The specs you gave are for the top level of the lower end compressors. Sounds like barely 5 hp, single stage, moderate CFM. A good shop compressor needs a minimum of 7.5 hp, two stage, 80 gal tank, 175 PSI, and 20+ CFM at 100 psi. No doubt that you have a good price, and it would make a good "homeowner" compressor, but it is not quite up to the task of a daily use shop compressor. If you have any of those, please post. I am interested.
Reply:davidoI'm also looking for a compressor I found this add on craiglist. I will call and see if they have any bigger compressors. I'm a homeowner that want to do some body work and paint a car.Dave ReberWadsworth Ohio
Reply:Sorry, I thought that you were selling it. It sounds like a good compressor for what you are doing. Of course, you know that a very good moisture filter is Necessary for painting. I have been looking for a while and am currently considering these:http://www.eatoncompressor.com/page/page/504747.htm |
