I just bought a used lincoln 255 Tig with a water cooled thumb control and down loaded the Lincoln manual, There is very little usefull info there. I have a lincoln sp 200 Mig,.. Airco AC DC Hi Freq..and lincoln ac buz box, and an old lincoln gasoline powered trailer that needs the engine rebuilt .I took a tig class a while back but the shop assistant set up the machine and we ran beads in Al, SS and steel, I tig welded a little with the old Airco but It was a hand crank adjustment and twist flow control. torch.ok for heavier stuff. I have a lot of questions about how to use the pulse, ac balance and Hi freq . The work we do is repair our farm and construction equipment, heavy steel work, to patching light weight aluminum tubing for farm irrigation sprinkler piping.

Reply:thanks for the info, I looked at a Miller syncro tig, with water cooler but it was scattered all over the guys garage, I had the cash and had the lift-gate truck ready to buy but told the guy to get it working first,.he never called me back. I googled and downloaded the Miller book excelllent reference, I like my Lincoln stuff, but they could do a better job of providing information (copy Miller's example ) |
