I have always purchased Miller equipment for my business, lots of them with very few breakdowns for MIG and TIG of aluminum in the shipyard industry, but my local supplier is telling me that this Lincoln is a good machine, and better than Millers for a home shop I just built to build steel impliments for my tractors and equipment. The other machine I am considering is a Miller Matic 252. The only other Lincoln I have is a 34 year old Buzzbox that remarkably still runs.Any opinions on the merits of this Power Mig 216 machine from actual owners with experience operating it for some amount of time? Thanks FAZTRACS
Reply:Hi FAZTRAC,There's a big difference in the two you're looking at. The Lincoln is more suited to automotive and small plate, where the Miller 252 is more robust and has more features. If the Miller is maybe used lightly and is similar in price it's a no brainer for the 252. The Lincoln is a tapped transformer machine and if it best suits your price range these tapped transformers are very reliable.Matt |
