So im on my 5-7th lb of filler.. so im a tig noob..some advice was given to not pulse until I learn to tig at regular settings. (good advice) So I have been setting the machine at 250 amps and just learning to use the pedal. [ATTACH=CONFIG]967171[/so which coupon was welded with high pulse and which one was welded with straight raw power? Both coupons using 3/32 tungsten and filler. Same setup on both plates, except amp delivery. FWIW the center bead was the first one on each plate. Sorry its upside down.. Attached Images
Reply:Can't really tell from my phone but looks like #2 was high speed pulse. You brushed #1 so it's hard to tellAirco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG
Reply:What do you mean by pulsed? Throttled pedal, or use of a pulsed machine?

Reply:Probably #1 sense it looks a little colder. Your getting good man! Great work
Reply:Oh ya not pulsed lol. I think #2 is straight current and #1 is pulsed. How high of pulse are using?
Reply:Ha, you guys are good. Both were brushed after. #2 was pulsed high speed on the machine. Thing is, pulsed had 110% penetration, I didn't penetration all the way with raw power. Need more seat time. Setting on a 2015 250ex were, left knob was 100, middle knob at noon, right knob at noon. Material was 1/8 aluminum. Gap was 1/8.
