Saw this on CL- thought it was a misprint- nope- wire feeder for tig- what sort of work would need that?  And why better than a mig?   http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/tls/4844432828.html
Reply:www.tiptigusa.com  Take some time to peruse the site, it will tell you all you need to know about it. When a welder tells you to "stick it", what do they really mean?"In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." - George Orwell
Reply:They're for filling in bevels where tons of filler is required. Not very commonly used though.Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com
Reply:Ive used these in fully automated TIG welding of gas pipelines, whole setup (tig touch, wire feeder and drive motor) is on a "bug" that runs on a rail thats clamped around the pipe next to the weld, the "weldor" sets the wire feed rate, travel speed, weave width and rate and amps, once sent it keeps welding until the welds done, makibg the weave wider, and reducing the travel speed as the bevel is filled out, ive used them only on steel where heat input is critical, and so tightly controlled.
