We got some E2594T1-4/1.2mm wire two weeks ago, when welding it with Ar/20CO2, we are getting some issues on the surface like droplet, gas holes and spatter. Does anyone have such experience about this wire and kindly give help ?Welding Parameters:200A, 30V,11m/min(WFS),Ar/20CO2,20L/min.
Reply:Do you have your polarity correct? Why are you not running C25? Have you checked the gas for contamination? Has the flux fouled out?Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:Who made the wire you're using?Looks like too much voltage for that wire feed speed and amperage, based on my experience. Excessive voltage will cause wormtracking porosity with that type of flux cored wire. Looks like you might be just on the verge of getting some wormtracking on the bead surface.11M/min = 430 inches per minute of wire feed speed. Try reducing voltage to 27-28 volts and repeat your bead on plate weld.Benson's Mobile Welding - Dayton, OH metro area - AWS Certified Welding Inspector
Reply:Yes, polarity is correct, we do not have such experience about E2594T1-4 before, just come back from testing. we ordered C25, it is coming.
Reply:Today we adjust the welding parameters, it is better now, still some issue on the surface, tried several groups of parameters
Reply:Please check the latest welding photos, we are using 24v-28v, 150A-180A, gas flow: 18L/min-22L/min.seems it is not smooth on the surface, not sure if it is fine or not for this kind wires. If we use C25, can the welding results be better or not, now only C20 is not available, we ordered C25. Reply:Correct: If we use C25, can the welding results be better or not? now only C20 is available, will try C25 by tomorrow.
Reply:C25 will make a small difference compared to C20. Those beads don't look too different from the super duplex and duplex fluxcored wires I've used in the past. At the end of the day, check the Ferrite content and chemistry. If those are within the established limits, and the NDT shows no internal defects, you're OK.Benson's Mobile Welding - Dayton, OH metro area - AWS Certified Welding Inspector
Reply:Thanks so much.
Reply:Dear All,We welded it more times based on 75Ar/25CO2, now we got good layout, please check the photos. Thanks for all of your great help.Best RegardsHenry |
