I had got a old Lincweld 225 DC..that needed pistons in the CCKA motor. Possible journal work. Then after that I got 2 more Onans (M48B) to use as a replacement motor..and one for spare parts..Long story short- I changed my mind about fixing or trying to adapt the other Onan- I really originally just wanted a Electric arc to go with my Linde mig. Year ago I had given my 'sick' neighbor a 225 Thunderbolt (AC). On his good days he works on motors, ect. He was willing to trade me back my Miller for this old Lincoln. Done Deal!..I'm in the hole big on it- since I bought the Thunderbolt before and gave it away- And I bought the Lincoln and 2 more Onans- but still under $400. But were Both happy now- and he has a project to help keep his mind off his sickness. Gene P.S. thanks Duane and others on help wjth the Linc venture)
Reply:As long as I posted on the getting Thunderbolt (vintage) - I know not Lincoln..But just general question: Why doesn't it have a cooling fan? And I seem to remeber seeing others too without glass over the amp indicater opening- that normal? Thanks- Gene
Reply:No cover over the slot. But go to the miller web site and look up your owners /parts manual,Make sure you enter your serial number to get the right one. see if it should have a fan. Most of the thunderbolts have fans, |
