If anyone has done or had trouble that they fixed with the idler upgrade kit hybriweld I could sure use some help.   I have ha it installed for about 3 weeks and still can't get it to idle down after starting.   I have done the weldmart trouble shooting and everything seems to be working.   Also have called hybriweld and did everything they said.  Still not idling down.   Any who can help on the phone would be greatly appreciated please leave a number if you can.  Thx in advance69 sa 200
Reply:You may have already done this, but double check your linkage between your carb and the new stuff. I couldnt get mine to idle up for a couple of days, untill I found it was in a slight bind. I had to loosen a couple of the bolts in the linkage a little so it could move freely. Do you also have a remote on your machine? What altenator are you running and do you have an oil pressure sensor.2011 Dodge 3500 diesel duallyLincoln SA-200Lincoln SAE-300LN-25'sLincoln Idealarc R3RMiller Trailblazer 302
Reply:My linkage is ok from what o can see.  I checked it over and over o make sure it wasn't in a bind.    No remote yet and my alternator is a one wire.   I did put a brand new pressure switch which I ordered with the kit69 sa 200
Reply:Do you have leads hooked up?  I had a bad section of lead on mine once, wouldnt idle down until I swapped it out. Did you have the r-57 on previously?  And have you checked all of your grounds to make sure they are getting good contact? And have you adjusted the carb and or linkage? What are your OCV's?2011 Dodge 3500 diesel duallyLincoln SA-200Lincoln SAE-300LN-25'sLincoln Idealarc R3RMiller Trailblazer 302
Reply:No leads.  I did have the r-57 before an the linkage and governor were working and moving fine.   I figure if it worked and moved fine before it should work fine now.   I have adjusted the carb and linkage.   I'm thinking I'm doing it wrong. But I read and adjusted everything like what I read on here.   I will double check allthe grounds to be sure and my OCVs are 92 and 119 at receptacle69 sa 200
Reply:I hate to hear you are still having hell with it bub. Got an idea you may try, if you know somebody close by and borrow their working PC board and try it
Reply:O yea in my opinion your OCV's are high, if your puddle is a little watery, lower them to about 86-87. There again just my opinion
Reply:Thx I will try but everyone I know is out pipelining.   I'm thiking about calling them one last time and exchanging it.   We will see.  Puddle when welding is pretty dang good.  I thought about lowering to 91 or so but gonna wait til I fix this idler problem69 sa 200
Reply:Yea I hear ya, my ocvs are about 86 on my 1960 redface and it downhills a 3/16 8010 good and DC heli-arcs good too. I still have the R-57 on mine and when I get of this turn around I plan on getting a electic idle upgrade kit. But having my doubts of the Hybriweld one cuz the hell you've had with yours. But the price of it is alot better than the other ones I've found
Reply:Yea I just hope it's something minor or something I foregot.69 sa 200
Reply:No power to pc board on yellow wire.   I have power at oil pressure switch and auto/high idle switch.  Help!69 sa 200
Reply:If you're getting power at your press switch, you should get power to your pc board (yellow wire.) With that said, im sure you're testing it with the engine running. Try a different piece of wire to verify that the wire is not the problem. If that don't get power to the pc board, I would (with it running), run a 12 volt hot wire to the pc board and see if it works then. If that dont get it I will send you my phone number and see if we can figure it out over the phone. Good luck bub ,Mike
Reply:Thx mike.  After trouble shooting over the phone with fowler he finally told me to send in the pc board.   He's gonna send me another.  But I have any troubles when I install that one I would definitely take you up on your offer69 sa 200
Reply:Yea man give me a hollar if it doesn't work for ya. A "stupid" question, did you check your yellow wire from the press switch to the board to verify it was good and not broke or bad connection?1960 Redface SA-200 F 1621973 Black face SA-200 F 163 with 5" chop2013 Miller Trailblazer 2752013 GMC 3500 welding car
Reply:Hey mike I finally my pc board and put it on last night and it worked perfectly.   Only thin is I checked my OCVs and volts at the receptacle and they were both high.   Got em down to 92 OCVs and 118 at receptacle.    After I adjusted that I noticed that my low idle was a little high so I brought the idle down about a 1/8 turn maybe a 1/4.   next I thought well I better readjust the linkage from the solenoid to carb.   I adjusted it and now I can tune it in to idle right.   I'm thinking the plunger maybe in a bind so it won't idle down.  I checked to see if there were any binding and it all looks good.   Gonna check again after work.   Any suggestion on fine tunin the carb to butterfly to linkage so it will all be back in sync.   I shoulda never messed with it.69 sa 200
Reply:Yep I got it in wed. Put it on and it worked right.* Readjusted the low idle and plunger to solenoid then turned it on and it stopped working again.** Bad board again.* Sending me a new one.* What gives?? Am I missing a ground or somethin???* I checked all my grounds an they are good.** What are the chances of getting two bad boards?? Message me with your number mike if you don't mind69 sa 200
Reply:Yea the chances of getting two bad pc boards are slim, I would call Folwer up and see what he says. When you drilled the holes for the board did you clean the surface with a file or sand paper. The pc board gets its electrical ground through the mounting bolts. Reply:I have been following this thread and admit that I know "Jack".Just want to ask if you are still running the original generator or have you got an alternator on that beast?Gordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."
Reply:I did call fowler and he said the chances are pretty slim.  He wants to check out the pc board.   He has sent me a new one just waiting on it.  Prob will be here on tues or wed.   I went over my grounds with him on the phone and I'm grounded everywhere he said.   I did grind of the paint off the rail where I mounted the pc board so it's bare metal.  I pit my test light ground on one of the back of the mounting screws and checked for power on my switch just to see if it was grounded and it was.   Hope the next one is the winner69 sa 200

Reply:Was wondering is all.  In 1969 they came with a generator and + ground.  When they changed to alternators they went to - ground.  Might have been a source of problem with new idler not working?  maybe??  Was just trying to help and to understand is all.Gordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."
Reply:Good observation.   I heard I you ran a pos ground system it would fry your pc board.   I don't see anything coming off my pos terminal except to starter.  My neg terminal is ran to the back of block for a ground.   Dumb question but how can you tell I you do have a pos ground system?   HELL of a nice rig CEP69 sa 200
Reply:The first clue might be a generator but alternators can be had for + ground so that is not foolproof.Check which battery cable goes to ground.  + or -Gordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."
Reply:I checked at the neg cable is grounded to the motor69 sa 200
