Bought me a used nexgen mask tonight

I paid 160 $ for it did I do good? He said the lense part is boss is this true?and yes the stupid sticker is coming off!!!

Reply:The Nexgen is a decent lens. Jackson has been offering it for quite sometime ( Mine is probably 8-10 years old) now though, so there are definitely new lenses available in the $140 - $200 range that are better. I prefer my HTP CSV or Lincoln Viking 2450 over my Nexgen. The CSV and 2450 both offer a more defined view of the weld puddle, and a clearer view of the weld joint.I also despise the cheap plastic lens retainer for the Nexgen. Reply:Well the view is way better then the horrible frieght mask I had so I'm good with it. It really is night and day what I'm seeing!! It pretty crazy I just welded some aluminum and its crystal clear!! But the only thing that's very annoying so far is the dang mask keeps coming down in front of my face when it's up. But I can't give much of a review becuase I only used it the 15 minutes if that. And I honestly think the horrible freight mask is more comfy. The sides of the nexgen dig into my head but some tlc will fix that
Reply:That is a pretty expensive helmet for one that looks so generic. All their hoods look that way. How about some images of the headgear?

Reply:The tint looks greenish. From the from it looks blue tho. Swapping headgear is a good idea but I think I'll tape some soft stuff in there

Reply:If you are ok with it that is the only thing that matters. I would not want a used helmet if it was free. That could come into play as far as helmet pricing goes.

The value of the protection of your eyes, is worth the extra assurance. I have a miller elite, but purchased a lincoln viking 2450. There both made from colt labs and seem to be almost identical in performance and technology . I paid $180 for my viking at a air liqude tent sale.   Nex gens are good units as well.
