Reply:I used Tru Close hinges on a pool rail install over 7 or 8 years ago, as far as I know they are still in service doing fine. I was impressed with the quality back when I put them on, my only concerns with them was how long will the plastic last, but time has proven that they do last. Their gate latches were very nice, too. Very simple to install and you have the option of a locking latch that works simply from either side of the rail.

Reply:I use rod end bearings and offset principles. Gravity works every time. Plus there's the added bonus of the meet up with the city inspector after he red tags the gate because it doesn't have springs. The code says "self closing". Of course city inspectors being city inspectors they look for the spring and never test the gate to see if it closes on its own. I love it when they look dumb founded when it keeps closing and they don't get it.Magic.life is good

Reply:on my pool gate i ties a piece of mason line to the bottom horizontal about 6" from the hinged end.i rubbed the line with beeswax and ran it down through the first crack between two deck boards.i tied it to a old window weight.two years and works good everytime.
Reply:We have been using Tru Close D&D hinges on our Pool gates for 20 years , wouldn't use anything else.A good guess is better than a bad measurement |
