Has anyone here ever thought of or had to rewire a gen head? I ask, because I was told that all the SA's from about 75 - till now were wired with a crappy copper-aluminum hybrid wrap. If that was so, and you could get one of these very cheap, I wonder what it would cost to get it re-wrapped with pure copper windings. ? It just a thought. Trust me, Ive seen rednecks spend a ton of money doing dumb stuff , like making a Corvette 4wd. this isnt that far off the reservation of an idea. If any of you have ever rebuilt an old SA....any model at all....PLEASE SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!Anyone know about converting or swapping out motors? things like that. Thanks in advance...PS....OMFG...a SA with a new dodge HEMI....lawls!
Reply:Found a little shop in Missouri City, tx. guy says he can wrapp a welder of just about any size for less than 500$. If your intrested in fixing a engine drive welder and need a new wrap of wire on the coils...try asking motor rebuild shops and alternator shops.JDPS // I passed on the welder i was looking at. By the time i got it running / working, it would have cost a fortune. |
