This is my first machine and im still a helper but im trying to get up and running on a pipeline. I was told to make sure the ocv is at 93 and i checked it at high idle and its at about 50. I was trying to adjust the ocv to a higher rating and after tightening the throttle arm and starting the machine again i got the ocv up to about 70 but now it surges on low idle. It doesn't surge on high idle and if i loosen the throttle down it will stop but I have to get the ocv higher...ne help out there?
Reply:Sounds like you may have at least a couple things going on. OCV as low as 50V sounds like more than an RPM issue and by adjusting the governor I suspect the sensitivity is now off.You didn't list a unit code# so review both of the following manuals and check all engine adjustments per the appropriate document before going any further.http://www.lincolnelectric.com/asset...oln3/im179.pdfhttp://www.lincolnelectric.com/asset...oln3/IM277.pdfMM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
