Here is a welding trailer project from my garage at home.  I made it so I could bring my Miller Bobcat 225 home. All of the welding was done with a Millermatic 180 (.030 wire 80/20 Argon Co2) with the exception of some of the structural parts that would be subject to highway stresses such as where the tongue and front A frame attach to the bed, etc.  For those welds I used my son's arc welder and used 3/32 7018 Rod @85 amps DC.  Millermatic 180Miller Bobcat 225Hypertherm Powermax 45Thunderbolt 225/150Member USW Local 6787
Reply:Looks sharp,Nice job.Just a couple welders, big hammers, grinders, and torches.Work will free you.Men in dirty jeans built this country, while men in clean suits have destroyed it. Trump/Carson 2016-2024

Reply:Why didn't you build the whole thing using the Bob Cat, instead of the other welders?

Then it was hoisted out an put on the trailer.
Reply:jrm400,I see your son's little Hobart Stickmate in the background. That's a sweet little welder for the money, huh? That's decent looking and well designed trailer.

Reply:To the original poster. You got your axle leaf spring and hanger/shackle geometry perfect....as loaded on pics, it might prove tongue heavy, but not to the point it will become dangerous tugged by even a compact truck. The point of my whole comment here is that there is another guy moding a trailer right now and posting questions here that needs to see your picsNice looking trailer; well done.*************************************Mike AccardiHenderson, [email protected] 250XLincoln Weldpack HDMiller Syncrowave 180 SD*************************************
